Spring’s Maximalist Accessories: How to Style
The accessories are especially covetable this spring: futuristic sunglasses from Prada, lively little bags from Louis Vuitton, embellished socks from Fendi, and bejeweled headpieces from Valentino. Street-style darling Chloe King shared her tips for piling them on without going overboard.
… And let it dictate the rest of the styling. King grabbed a pink peplum top and popped on a fanciful headpiece to mimic the purse’s confectionery vibe.
Maximalist dressing is about so much more than bright colors and mixed prints, says Chloe King. She punched up this monochromatic look with playful stockings.
How do you pull off futuristic sunglasses without looking like a Martian? A retro hat and necktie. Polka dots in different weights and sizes (but the same palette) add visual interest.
The burgundy headscarf and cape coat make a groovy pair. Wide-leg jeans play into the ’70s vibe.
Why stop at a bunch of necklaces? King added a pearl brooch, button earrings, and a cocktail ring over a men’s oxford shirt and tie.
Despite the elegance of the accessory, the rest of the styling is intentionally comfortable, breathable, and “not too precious.”
King paired her classic leather belt with two different chains: One is slinky and embellished, the other large and circular. Mixing metals, textures, and sizes makes the look.
